Olympus ME 30W - Microphone Review

Olympus ME 30W - MicrophoneI bought these to record live pipe organ performances. The pipe organ has a gigantic frequency range, but these little microphones record the sound perfectly. When I listen to recordings made through these microphones and the Olympus LS-10 digital recorder, the pipe organ sounds exactly the same as hearing it live...and I should know, I've been playing that pipe organ every week for five years!

Expensive, but worth every penny.

Olympus ME-51S Stereo Microphone Review

Olympus ME-51S Stereo MicrophoneWe bought this to use with our WS-300M to record a class. We thought the stereo would result in a better quality recording. In the end, we set the recorder to MONO (HQ) because the speaker moves his head and the sound travels from one channel to the other! Good quality but distracting. Save your money and buy the mono mic. The quality is excellent in either setting.
Buy the way, in case you miss it, this mic does come with a cable to connect it to the recorder.

Olympus ME-12 Noise Canceling Microphone Review

Olympus ME-12 Noise Canceling MicrophoneI bought a couple of microphones looking to replace my Plantronics .Audio desktop microphone. Of them were the Koss M-18, Logitech USB Desktop, and this one.

This Olympus was the cheapest of the 3.It's sensitivity is a little low. This helps with canceling a lot of background noise & makes sense as the primary purpose of this mic was usage with digital recorders. However, any dictation where the source is further than 10 inches may not record clearly.

I was using the mic with my PC audio card so results may vary when using it with the suggested Olympus recorders.

Olympus Premium Case - Case for digital voice recorder - black Review

Olympus Premium Case - Case for digital voice recorder - blackThis case is really great for the "Sony ICD-UX71 Digital Voice Recorder" (essentially a perfect fit). Almost all of the recorder's functions are easily accessible while in the case. The case provides a good level of protection, is of high quality, and looks nice. The case snaps/buttons shut at the bottom to cover the front of the recorder. The recorder is held in place by an elastic band at the case's top which approx rests in between the recorder's microphones and screen. The case has a good loop/belt clip on its back that buttons on its lower edge to the back of the case, but also has a second strip of material to keep the recorder on the belt even if the button comes undone. I added a smallish lanyard ("Olympus 202315 Adjustable Wrist Strap (Black)") to the voice recorder that hangs out while the recorder is in the case. Voice recorder is approx: 3-7/8"L x 1-1/4"W x 1/2"H. The case is approx: 4-1/4"L x 1-3/4"W x 1"H. Very satisfied. Highly recommended.

Olympus TP-7 Telephone Recording Device Review

Olympus TP-7 Telephone Recording Devicei needed to record a cell phone conversation and this was the absolute cheapest way to do it. the earpiece has a microphone on the opposite side that records what is being said by whomever you're talking to, plus your voice (a bit louder). i bought it friday and it got to my house by monday. amazing.

one thing: this mic doesn't have its own power source, so whatever recording device you plug it into must be able to supply power. i used an olympus VN-2100 digital recorder and it worked almost flawlessly. i say almost because the mic doesn't record in stereo, it records in mono. but the record volume is loud and comes out very very clear even if the earpiece/mic isn't right on top of the phone receiver.

you will not be able to do this any better for the money. a lot of online spy shops are charging $200 or more for this same function. i got this mic (which will record cell phone and land line conversations) plus a digital recorder for under $50.
